Pinwheels for Peace
Members of the Timberland High School Art Club planted over 1,200 pinwheels around the exterior of their school on September 21st in recognition of International Day of Peace. The pinwheels were created by THS students, staff and families in conjunction with “Pinwheels for Peace,” a project that was initiated in 2005 by two art teachers in Florida as a way for students to express how they felt about what was going on in the world around them. Timberland art students have participated in the project for the past ten years. Timberland Art Club students work under the instruction of Fine Arts Department Chair Crystal Wing. “It feels great being able to have this visual display of peace with so much happening in our community lately,” shared Wing. “So many people came together to make this project happen again this year.” Special thanks to the Wentzville WalMart for donating all of the supplies for this project.
Stone Creek Participates in
Art Aficionado Program
Stone Creek Elementary was one of 13 schools in the greater St. Louis area selected to participate in the St. Louis Art Fair’s inaugural Student Art Aficionado Program. All 5th and 6th grade students at Stone Creek learned about the St. Louis Art Fair, the process of artists being juried into the show, art show etiquette, and how to select and purchase art for a specific space or purpose.

Invest in School Meals
Child Nutrition Services is committed to serving the children of the WSD well-balanced, delicious meals. Our #1 rule is to “feed the children.” It is our hope and our intent that no child leaves the cafeteria hungry. Many of the schools share this same commitment with us. They have created lunch accounts to help families who are struggling to keep up with paying for school breakfast and lunch. To learn how you, your organization, or business can donate to these lunch accounts please call our office at 636-327-3858 ext. 21321 or email
