|Board selects name for new early childhood center
The Pattonville Board of Education on Nov. 28 approved renaming the former Briar Crest Elementary School as the Pattonville Early Childhood Center in honor of its transition to a school dedicated to serving children from birth to 5 years of age. As part of the zero tax rate increase bond issue approved by voters in April 2017, the building will become an early childhood center in order to free up classroom space in Pattonville's elementary schools and to enable the district to maintain lower class sizes. The renovations to the center are expected to be complete in Spring 2018.
St. Louis Diaper Bank
Pattonville Early Childhood is now a proud partner of the St. Louis Diaper Bank. What a wonderful resource this will be for our families! We are one of 15 organizations that are partnering with the St. Louis Diaper Bank to make life happier, healthier and more stable for low-income families in the region. Families that meet the qualifications can receive up to 50 diapers a month. The St. Louis Diaper Bank exists to help strengthen low-income families in the St. Louis region by ensuring access to an adequate supply of diapers and by raising awareness about the causes and consequences of diaper need in our community.
PTO Fundraiser at Fuzzy Taco's was a huge success. Thanks to all who came out to support Pattonville Early Childhood PTO.

Parent Educator Tip:
"Get rid of distractions and pay attention to what the child is saying. At times adults may need to stop whatever they are doing and listen to the child. It is difficult to run the vacuum cleaner, cook dinner, look at the phone and at the same, pay close attention to what the child is saying. Caution: Do not pretend that you are listening when you aren't. If you are busy- talking on the phone or entertaining guests- tell the child, "I'm busy now, but let's talk about that later." Then be sure to follow through." - Tammy D
