Fall Classroom Party
On Tuesday October 31, from 2:30-3:30 pm, Carman Trails will be having its first classroom party of the year. Our wonderful PTO has planned activities for this exciting event.   We welcome any parents that would like to come join in the fun. As a reminder, please do not send any food or candy in.  Per Parkway's policy, no outside food or drink will be permitted.  Thank you for helping us make this a safe event for all.    
Art To Remember Orders
 This week you should receive an order form specific to your student in backpacks. Art to Remember is a wonderful way to celebrate your child's achievements in art with fun prints or holiday gifts decorated by your own artist. As a bonus, Carman Trails' art department will receive a portion of the proceeds for more art supplies for our school. The deadline for ordering through order forms is November 10. A big thank you to our Beautification Committee that has been planting flowers and improving the front of our building. The additions to the landscaping look awesome!

Also, thank you to our 3rd grade Cub Scout troop for their work on cleaning up the raised beds and planting perennials on the south end of the building. Thank you all for your hard work! 
Attention Parents and Caregivers
 On Tuesday, November 7th, the PTO is kindly giving a short part of their meeting time for any parent or caregiver who would like to learn more about how to strengthen their parenting skills. 

** Being a parent can be very challenging sometimes, but it is the most important job! **

Come and join us on Tuesday night, Nov. 7th, at 7:00 pm in the lower library for dessert & casual conversation on parenting during the PTO meeting.

Veteran's Day Pictures
Mike Schultz, one of our fifth grade teachers, is updating the Veterans' bulletin board.  Last year, he received three pictures after Veteran's Day, but he only has the person's name with no other information.  The names are:  Bill Alstrom,Tom O'Neil, and Edward Tadajewski.  He is hoping you can help him identify them.  Please contact if you can help. Also, if you have any pictures you would like to submit for the board you can email them to the above address or drop them off in the office. Please include the following information, their name, branch of the military, relationship to Carman student.

Carman Trails School Honors Those Who Served


Friday, November 3rd, 2017 
9:15 A.M.


Carman Trails School would like to recognize the men and women of the Carman Trails Community who have served OR are currently serving in the military. If you have family members or friends who have served or are serving in the military, we would like to honor them at an all-school assembly on Friday November 3, at 9:15 A.M. in our gymnasium.  Please R.S.V.P. to Mrs. Karen Regan at 314-415-6104 no later than Monday, October 30th, so we can be sure to have adequate seating.


P.S.  We would like a picture for our bulletin board, if we don’t have one yet.  Please send it in an envelope labeled:  Mr. Schultz.

Buzz Books On Sale Now!
 2017-2018 Buzz Books are now for sale in the office for $1. Please stop by and grab your copy! Congratulations to 3rd grader Lily Hennekes .  Her drawing was picked to be our cover this year! A congratulations should also be extended to Tyler Biggot (4th), Eli Sykes (1st), and Cora McCrary (3rd) who will also be featured in the buzz book this year.  A special thank you to all students who entered a drawing.  
Lost and Found
 As the weather has finally started to cool off we are having more kids bring sweatshirts and light jackets to school. Please make sure to put your child's name on any items they bring to school. This includes, water bottles, hats, gloves, scarves, and all outerwear. If they have names on it there is a much better chance of you getting the object returned.    
Parkway STEMFest

The event formally known as the Parkway Science Fair and STEM Expo has undergone a redesign. We are happy to announce plans for the

Parkway 2018 STEMFest

A place where Parkway explores, builds, designs, and connects to the ever-changing world.

Parkway STEMFest will include the science fair, exploration stations, design & build challenges, and a Hack-A-Thon!

Southwest Middle School on March 2-3, 2018

  • Join us for interactive family fun with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.  All ages are welcome!

    • Friday, 3/2, exploration stations open from 4-8 pm

    • Saturday 3/3 exploration stations and design & building challenges open from 10Am-3pm.  

    • Special guests like Parkway’s Early Childhood Center and The Science Center will be joining us for the fun.
