A Special Thanks...

The students and staff enjoyed a full week of school filled with excitement that included a solar eclipse, Curriculum Night, and our annual Back to School Ice Cream Social.  I understand how eventful the beginning of the school year can be for families and would like to thank all for attending the back to school events when your schedule allowed.  It has been a pleasure to meet so many families and see the students establishing new friendships.

I would like to thank the representatives from the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, Parkway's Parents As Teachers, and PTO for providing additional experiences for our families to become involved in.  A special thank you to our wonderful PTO for sponsoring a successful Back to School Ice Cream Social.  From what I hear, we had an awesome turn out and it would not have been possible without all of the organizing and planning that went into the special event.  Thank you to our many community helpers that shared the evening with us as well. We had a visit from the Safety House, West County EMS and Fire Protection District, St. Louis County K-9 Unit, and St. Louis Regional Bomb and Arson Unit.   In order to see some pictures from these events, please check out our Facebook and Twitter pages.

Attendance
Regular attendance is crucial for success in academics. We appreciate any help that you can give your students in reaching this success by making sure that students arrive on time and limiting doctors appointments whenever possible to before or after school. However, we also understand that sometimes illness or other circumstances arise that prevent a student from attending. Please try to call the attendance line (314-415-6126) before 9:00am if your student will be absent for the day or you can call the front office anytime and leave a message.

Also, new this year, will no longer mark students either absent excused or absent unexcused.
