January 2017

Happy New Year!

We hope you had a relaxing Winter Break with family and friends.

We would like to thank all our parents who volunteered to participate in the School Board Linkage Session that focused on our Special Education and 504 Five-Year Strategic Plan in November. More than 25 parents participated in this “linkage” session with the district’s Board of Directors. The purpose of the linkage was for the Board of Directors, superintendent and key district staff to meet with parents of students receiving Special Services to hear feedback on two areas:

  1. The Special Services program review final report and action plan, and
  2. Specific ideas and suggestions for how the district can best address the Parent and Family Engagement aspects of the plan.

The linkage feedback and combined notes from the linkage sessions were posed on our district web page under "Special Services Program Review."  We are in the process of collecting and collating the public comments to finalize our Five-Year Strategic Plan document. This document will then be posted on our website. We will also send you an updated newsletter when the finalized document is available on our website. Again, thank you for all your support and time on this important work for our students and district.

As we transition to 2017, we look forward to continuing our partnership with parents and staff to ensure students are future ready, and prepared to lead rewarding, responsible lives as contributing members of our community and greater society.
