Thank you! A big thanks to our friends at BARC. Without their assistance in helping low-income families with spay/neuter financial assistance, we would not have reached our 50,000th surgery so quickly.

Carol House Reaches 50,000th Spay/Neuter Before 5-year Anniversary

Carol House Quick Fix Clinic reached a significant milestone recently. The 50,000th spay-neuter surgery was performed on Daisy, a Great Dane/Husky mix, at the clinic (1218 S. Jefferson) in St. Louis on May 15, just weeks before the clinic's 5-year anniversary on Sunday, June 11.

“When we started the clinic 5 years ago, we never thought we could accomplish this milestone so quickly,” says Wendy Heckman, Executive Director. “This has happened because we offer safe, affordable spay and neuter services performed by compassionate, licensed veterinarians in a dedicated state-of-the-art surgery center. It's the only one of its kind in the metro area." The clinic is part of the Humane Alliance' National Spay/Neuter Response Team, a program designed to help open, operate and sustain quality, high-volume spay/neuter clinics. The ASPCA acquired the Humane Alliance in 2015.

Carol House Pet Clinic offers spay and neuter solutions. The services for cats and dogs are $64 and $84, respectively. CHQFC is subsidized by corporate grants and private donations from individuals and businesses.

“CHQFPC is the solution to pet overpopulation. Its goal is to make the St. Louis Metropolitan area a no-kill community," according to Board Member, Brook Dubman. "We have seen a significant decrease in the euthanasia of unwanted pets in the area since the clinic opened.”

The clinic will hold an open house to celebrate the 5-year anniversary and the 50,000th surgery on Friday, July 14 from 3pm – 5:30pm. “This is a chance for everyone in the community to celebrate our accomplishment, meet the staff and see the facility,” says Heckman. The event is free and open to the public. RSVP to Donna
by Wednesday, July 12.
Thank You, Shirley!
Thank You to our wonderful Advisory Board member, Shirley Sostman, who donated her van to the clinic earlier this year. It will be used for our community outreach program as well as our feral cat and transport programs. As you can imagine, we have fondly named the van, "Shirley."
