WE WOULD LOVE YOUR INPUT!
We are at the point in the school year where we begin planning for the year to come! One of the tasks is next year's class placements, and these discussions will be starting very soon. Our teachers, counselor, and administrators work hard to make decisions based on the best interest of our students. There is a lot of thought and planning involved! We invite families to be part of this process by filling out the Class Placement Parent Input Form. Although this form is not mandatory, it does give us insight into what you feel is best for your child. If you choose to do so, please fill out the online form or the paper form by Friday, April 27th. This document may be shared with the certified staff members that work with your child at LCE.
BUDDY BENCH FUNDRAISER
We are excited to report that during our March Madness week, we far surpassed our goal. Student Senate will be using this money to purchase a Buddy Bench for our playground. The students had a great time. The lucky winners that will be getting pied in the face are Mr. Houston, Mrs. Elmy, Mrs. Ebner and Mrs. Simmons.
5TH GRADE SKATE NIGHT
5th graders....please join us on Wednesday, April 11th for Skate Night from 6-8pm.
DRAMA CLUB PERFORMANCE
Please join us April 17 for the LCE Drama Club's performance of Willy Wonka Junior. The performance starts at 7pm at East High. This is a free performance, and we would love to see you there. For more information, please visit our website here.
A NOTE FROM NURSE MOLLY
As the weather has been fluctuating from warm to cold- sometimes all in one day, please be sure to dress your children in the appropriate clothing, including coats, socks, and closed toe shoes. It may be best to dress your children in layers as they will be comfortable with the weather changes. We try to go outside as much as possible and we want to ensure that each student keeps warm.

We are running out of extra clothing in the clinic, if your child has borrowed an item of clothing from the clinic, could you please launder the item and return it to school.
SHOWER OF LOVE
April 9-20 we will be collecting new baby-care items for the annual Shower of Love, sponsored by the Community and Children’s Resource Board of St. Charles County (CCRB). Even the smallest donation can make a difference. For more information, click here to see the flyer.
HEADPHONES NEEDED
As Spring rolls in, along with it comes standardized testing. While we are still working on a finalized testing schedule, I wanted to give families the testing window early. We will begin testing the week of April 23, and will conclude the week of May 14. Please be cognizant of absences during these times, as it may affect your child's performance on these tests. Also, your child will need headphones for the test. Please check with your child to make sure that their headphones are working properly and/or that they have been using them for technology.
PARENTS RIGHT TO KNOW
As a parent of a student at Lewis and Clark Elementary you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the classroom teachers who instruct your child. If you would like to receive this information please call Mrs. Sanker at 636-397-3111.
EARLY RELEASE DAY CHANGES

The 2018-2019 school year calendar is on our website. Just click here. We are grateful for the home-school partnership in teaching children that every minute counts at school and want to make a special note: Early Release Days move to Wednesdays in 2018-2019. We know many of you use this time to schedule appointments, etc., so your child can be at school when class is in session. The change takes effect in August. We hope that by reminding you of this change over the next few months, you and your family are ready for the next school year. Thank you for support of strong school attendance. #EveryMinuteCounts
