Sept.11-15, 2017
Say cheese! Picture Day is Friday, Sept. 15. We are asking for parent volunteers to help with this day. If you are interested in volunteering to help with picture day, please contact the main office at 636-397-3111. We appreciate your help in advance!
We're extremely excited about the launch of the My School Color Run program at LCE. Our Color Run will be taking place on Saturday, Sept. 30th at 10 am at the Lakeside 370 park. We're looking forward to involving our entire student body and faculty in a fun and healthy program. We want to engage the entire community and encourage local businesses and individual community members to get involved.

The Color Run is an untimed fun run for all ages and fitness abilities. Along the route, participants pass through vibrant color zones, making it a "colorful experience". Additionally, each pre-registered participant is provided with a single powder color packet that will be thrown in the air at the final color celebration at the finish line.

Participants that register by 9/15/17 will receive a t-shirt, race bib, and individual color packet.
All participants, including students, MUST register to participate in the race. You can sign up for the run by visiting or by completing a paper registration form. Business sponsorship opportunities are also available. Please contact Mrs. Sanker for more information.

We received an overwhelming response for club participation this year and we couldn’t be more excited! We are putting finishing touches on club rosters and trying our hardest to ensure students are getting first, second, or third choices depending on the availability of the club. You should be hearing something from the club sponsors by the end of next week on official start dates and times. Please be patient as we work through the lists. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the office.
You may have heard your child talk about earning Trailblazer tickets. Students earn these tickets by following expectations around the school, including the bus. On Friday mornings, tickets are drawn from each grade level and students can choose an incentive from a provided list. Some popular prizes last week were extra recess with a friend, sit in the principal’s chair for a day, and sit anywhere in the lunch room. We are looking forward to announcing this week’s winners.
As a parent of a student at Lewis & Clark Elementary you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the classroom teachers, as well as, our Title 1 reading teacher, Julie Westbrook. Mrs. Westbrook will send home a letter to all students that she currently serves about her qualifications to teach reading specifically as it pertains to the Title 1 funded program . If you would like to receive this information, too, please call Stephanie Sanker at 636-397-3111.
