Letter from the principal

Dear GBN Parents and Families:

The 2017-18 school year is upon us. Your Spartans have energized our hallways with school spirit and are acclimating to their schedules and new routine. Our talented and dedicated teachers and support staff eagerly anticipated their arrival and are immersing students in engaging and rigorous learning experiences from day one.

Glenbrook North is thriving because of our strong sense of community and the support that we receive from parents and families. Trust and positive relationships are the foundation for everything that we do. Our GBN Vision unites us with a common focus on building and strengthening our sense of community. This is accomplished every day in classrooms, on athletic teams, in clubs, and in the hallways and common areas.

The Class Act and All School Workshop Committees have developed experiences that aim to connect students with peers and the larger community while instilling expectations of kindness and respect.

Thank you for your partnership in making the Glenbrook North experience one that is life-changing and enduring for our students. We look forward to seeing you on September 7.

With Spartan Pride,

Dr. John L. Finan

District launches new websites

This summer, the Glenbrooks launched a new website designed to enhance communication with parents, students, and the school communities. Instead of restructuring in a typical navigation style, the Glenbrooks sought an innovative design that is based on search as the main navigation. This is meant to address significant parent feedback on the previous website regarding difficulties in locating information.

We get it! Navigation is personal. So, we built the new website to function much like Google - If the content exists, it is searchable.

The search feature gets “smarter” with each user interaction. Popular items will move higher in the results. But, if you can’t find something: 1. Try looking under the bottom panel called “trending.” 2. Drop us a line and let us know.
