Letter from the principal

Dear Titan Parents,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! Here at Glenbrook South, we had a smooth start. Our freshmen are finding their way around, and our upperclassmen are glad to be back with their fellow Titans.

As I begin my third year as principal of GBS, I continue to feel incredibly fortunate to have this leadership opportunity. I am passionate about serving students and adults with enthusiasm, thoughtfulness, and dedication. Our goal is to provide a safe environment, challenging curriculum, and enriching extracurricular experience for every GBS student. In order to reach this goal, we need to partner with parents and keep open lines of communication.

If you have concerns about your child’s progress in a specific course, we recommend that you contact your child’s teacher. If you have overall academic or social/emotional concerns, please contact your student’s guidance counselor. We are committed to working together on behalf of student success.

I welcome parent feedback at any time throughout the year. Please feel free to contact me at or 847-486-4849. I value your opinion and appreciate your involvement in your child’s education.

With Titan Pride,

Dr. Lauren Fagel

District launches new websites

This summer, the Glenbrooks launched a new website designed to enhance communication with parents, students, and the school communities. Instead of restructuring in a typical navigation style, the Glenbrooks sought an innovative design that is based on search as the main navigation. This is meant to address significant parent feedback on the previous website regarding difficulties in locating information.

We get it! Navigation is personal. So, we built the new website to function much like Google - If the content exists, it is searchable.

The search feature gets “smarter” with each user interaction. Popular items will move higher in the results. But, if you can’t find something: 1. Try looking under the bottom panel called “trending.” 2. Drop us a line and let us know.
