|In our high tech, instant information world, it is easy to become discouraged by the news and information we are exposed to. In a sea of negative, or even scary news, it can be difficult to maintain a positive outlook at times. But we have great reason to be thankful.
We have a God who loves us unconditionally and who created us to have fellowship with him. Psalm 100 says, “…He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.” Christians can rest on this simple but complex truth. In all circumstances, we are his and he loves us. There are hundreds of scriptures exhorting us to be thankful, for literally hundreds of reasons. We can be thankful for his grace and love, and the salvation we experience through Jesus Christ. We have his daily presence in our lives, and his invitation to and answer of our prayers. We also have one another. In addition to himself, (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), God has given us other believers as brothers and sisters in Christ, to support and encourage one another through life’s ups and downs.
At this time of Thanksgiving, and always, be thankful for all God has given us and all he does for us. His goodness and grace far outweigh the negative aspects of our culture that may try to drag us down. Be thankful for his gift of his Son, and for welcoming us to his family. I read a recent medical study that found the act of being thankful also has very positive benefits for our health and longevity. God knew this before they studied it, and their study just supports what he has told us in his Holy Word. So, be thankful!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

|NCCS Senior Class hosts
|By: Meghan Rogers, senior at NCCS
North County Christian School seniors hosted their annual Dead Week from October 28th to November 1st. Dead Week provides an after school activity event each day for a week, for students in between sports seasons, or dead time.
During the week, students were able to participate in sports that suited their interests. Students paid $5 for the full week’s activities, or $1.50 per day. The activities included flag football, basketball, kickball, soccer, and volleyball. The games lasted for a duration of about two hours, depending on the weather. Despite there being overlapping sports practices during the week and people not having the time to come to the event, they made $31.50 from the event. Despite a smaller audience, students had fun, and the hosts did, too.
Tylain King, a senior at NCCS, said, “I think that Dead Week started off rough, but throughout the week it turned out to be somewhat fun, even though there were not many people.”
Kemarri Hackle, a junior at NCCS who attended the event, said, “It was good. I think if it had more support from the students, then it would have been better.”
|NCCS, Did you know?...
|By Sheryl Dampf, Director of Operations
DID YOU KNOW… that Mr. Blize, our Secondary Science Teacher, who also teaches at Missouri Baptist College, has been taking a group of our high school students to Washington University on Saturdays to participate in some amazing classes?
DID YOU KNOW... that NCCS makes money on the clothes that are donated to the little shed on the southeast corner of our parking lot? This is the time of year to clean out your closets and donate to a great cause! You not only help NCCS, but are helping others at the same time.
DID YOU KNOW... that NCCS is celebrating it’s 56th year of providing Christian education to the North County area?
