An encouraging word from our school principal
Dear Parents,

It is time to pray and worship God like never before!

As our academic year draws to a close and we live these historical events, we must worship God for who He is, believe in His word, use the faith He has given us, and use the power and authority given to believers.

I would like to thank our hard working and caring teachers and staff who have made a huge difference to our students. Their commitment is outstanding and our students are the beneficiaries. Thank you for providing rich and engaging, well-rounded experiences online for our students, knowing that education is about joy, wonder and fostering curiosity, along with the development of social skills so needed to succeed. For these, and a million other things, I am truly grateful.

I would like to acknowledge the outstanding support of our superintendent, business manager, secretaries, maintenance staff, and enrollment team. As the new principal, not only to NCCS, but also to Christian education, I could not have had more support and encouragement. I thoroughly enjoyed my first Missions Day, kindergarten drive by graduation on wheels, and senior graduation at the PowerPlex. To all of you, I say "Thank You!"

I would also like to thank the many parents who have come to see me. To have a good understanding of our parent body is very important to enable the school to meet the needs and aspirations of our families and students. I appreciate every parent in assisting me in adjusting to this new role, and working with me to help your child succeed.

I have much appreciation for our students having made it through a very different school year. They have excelled in working from home and not being in their daily routines. Thank you, students, for your endurance and long-suffering.

Over the summer vacation, I will be working with colleagues to put into place a smooth opening to the new academic year, and setting the priorities to build upon the successes of the school so that we can improve still further. We will be putting new safety measures in place to do as much as we can to protect against germs. We will communicate any new measures that might change our normal routines at NCCS. We will always seek to do better; to challenge ourselves and our students to set the highest standards and achieve our ambitious goals.

I would like to wish you all the very best for the summer vacation and look forward to welcoming you all back, refreshed, for what will be an exciting, new academic year.

             UPDATE
Our first week of Summer Camp was a great learning experience for all of us, but a great success! Ms Tracy and Miss Kori, along with all of our summer camp staff, are doing their best to make our on-campus camp safe, but fun! Masks are worn inside the building, and students are socially distanced. Lunches are eaten with their group, in their room. Sheryl Dampf purchased an automated check-in and check-out system, which has worked great so far. Parents and those dropping off or picking up students remain in their vehicles, and our staff checks temperatures and asks health screening questions, before bringing students  into the building. Pictures are uploaded to the system, so that parents can see their children having fun during the day. Lunches will be served beginning Monday, June 8th. Breakfast starts on June 9th.

Our theme this week was "Welcome Week." Campers decorated their masks and name tags, painted placemats for lunch, made tye-dye shirts, and started journaling, along with other fun activities. 

Here are our planned themes for the remainder of Summer Camp. Fun activities to go along with the theme are planned for each day.

June 8-12 - The Great Outdoors
June 15-19 - Wow Week!
June 22-26 - Growing the Fruit of the Spirit
June 29 - July 3 - Red, White and Boom!
July 7-10 - Backyard Bash (no camp July 6th)
July 13-17 - Ocean Commotion
July 20-24 - Dream Big!
July 27-31 - Bon Voyage!

Summer Camp is for ages 3 years (by August 1, 2019) through those entering 8th grade, and costs $135 per week. A $75 Activity Fee is due when you register. We will only fill 45 spaces, in groups of nine students. Some groups are almost full. To register your child, you may call us at 314-972-6227, or visit our Administration Office from 8 am to 4 pm, Mondays through Fridays. Applications and Covid-19 Liability Waivers are available on our website at nccsedu.org. You may also pay online.
