New Partnership
North County Christian School has entered an exciting new partnership with Miriam Learning Center.  Miriam Learning Center provides specialized support services to students to help meet the individual learning needs of students with learning disabilities and other special needs that may have a negative impact on learning.  Through this partnership, NCCS will be able to access the wide variety of comprehensive, special education services offered by Miriam Learning Center.

The first portion of our partnership is Miriam’s Partners in Education Program.  As a partner in  this program, NCCS can access support services to fill holes or gaps in student support services we do not normally provide.  These services, which may be purchased through Miriam on an “as needed” basis by parents of NCCS students, include services such as occupational, physical and speech/language evaluations and therapies; Psychological counseling; special education services; and cognitive / achievement testing, to name a few.

The second portion of our partnership is access to services provided through Miriam’s Early Childhood Intervention and School Age Counseling Programs.  The services in these two programs are available to qualifying students free of charge through the Saint Louis County Children’s Service Fund.

The Early Childhood Intervention Program provides psycho social screenings, behavioral consultation / coaching, case management and psycho-educational testing for children ages 3-5 who reside in St. Louis County who may be struggling with educational problems, social development, emotional or behavioral problems.  The School-Age Counseling Program provides free in-school mental health screenings, cognitive-behavioral counseling, collaboration with school staff and community referrals to help address the needs of students in private and faith-based schools who may be struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues.

We are excited for the opportunity this new partnership provides us to help us meet the social, emotional and learning needs of our students.

GET INVOLVED!  JOIN OUR PARENT ASSOCIATION
A great way for parents to be involved in supporting our school is to join our CPA (Crusader Parent Association).  The CPA will hold our first meeting on Monday evening, September 10th at 7 pm in the cafeteria.  The CPA is open to all parents of current NCCS students and serves a vital role in our school community.

For our CPA to be effective, we need active parent participation.  We need you, your input and your ideas!  So come and join us on Monday, September 10th, at 7 p.m. to learn more about how you can be involved through CPA.

In addition, our After School Activity Program for 6th-12th grade is looking for an after school counselor to work 15-30 hours per week.  The job would include: assisting with the planning of events and activities; and providing supervision of students to maintain a safe and healthy educational environment.

Scout Me In!
Cub Scouts is now open for the entire family and has programs for all boys and girls from kindergarten to fifth grade. New dens are forming now! Our first meeting will be Wednesday September 12th at 6:00 pm in the ASAP building in the rear of the campus, across from the garage. We will have signs out in advance. We are also looking for adult den leaders, both male and female to help with the program to guide the youth.

Since 1930, Cub Scouting has helped youth become more involved in their community, their schools and better youth overall with the program designed to lead into the BSA Scouts program. We will have fun, games, learning, character development, a bit of leadership introduction and community involvement.

If interested, please contact Cubmaster, Daryl Sutphen @ 314-518-8956 and leave your info or email at dsutphen@msn.com so we can get an idea on head count, both children and adults.
