Gobble Grams a hit!
By Carissa Harris-Lands and Victoria Bovey, NCCS seniors

To raise money for the trip to Honduras, NCCS faculty members Christina Springer, Andrea Durall, and Becky Cornwell sold Gobble Grams, which were gifts that students, teachers, and parents could purchase for K-12 grade students.

They are much like Valentine Grams....a card and a gift that is chosen and sent by a person to a person, but for Thanksgiving. The Gobble Grams were delivered on November 25th.

The person sending the gram could choose between a snack cake, candy bag, or a five dollar gift card from Doozle's, Bread Company, Taco Bell, or Starbucks. A note of thankfulness was included.

After everything was done and paid for, Gobble Grams raised around $250 for the Honduras trip. "For the first time doing Gobble Grams, it was definitely a success, and will happen again next year," said Cornwell. [Sophomore Hannah Davis, English teacher Jennifer Adams, and Junior Kaden Canupp receive Gobble Grams.]

Seniors host successful secondary lock-in
By Meghan Rogers, NCCS senior

The seniors hosted a lock-in on November 15, which raised $204.30 for their senior trip. They provided pizza for all the students who attended. Since there were no other previously scheduled activities, more than 20 secondary students attended.

The game "Security Guard" was introduced. Bowling pins were spaced out across the court, and each team had to take the other team's pins down. A lot of people who were not already playing basketball enjoyed the game. Others went around and hung out, since previous NCCS students were there. Their friends who attend NCCS wanted to catch up with them. Brandin Williams, pictured above, enjoyed playing the game.
NCCS Spirit Wear now online
We have partnered with Aardvark Printing and SportsTeamsUS to provide an online store to purchase NCCS Spirit Wear. The school receives a portion of the profit from items sold in our store. Those funds go directly to support our student activities through our secondary Student Council fund and our elementary student activity fund. We currently have some items/designs listed that have never been available previously, including flannel lounge pants and a baseball cap. The hoodies listed on the site also have a design that is different than we have sold in the school.

You can make purchases directly online, and then the merchandise is delivered to the school for convenient pickup. You can still make purchases in time for Christmas. Orders completed online by December 16th will be delivered to the school by Friday, December 20th.
