Veterans Day Celebrations
Students throughout Grain Valley Schools will observe Veterans Day honoring those who have served in the U.S. Military. Each school in the district has made plans to commemorate Veterans Day in their own way.

Any veterans in the community are invited to attend events at Stony Point Elementary, Matthews Elementary, and Grain Valley North Middle School. All other schools have special events planned for veterans with connections to students or staff at those schools.

Grain Valley High School will host a Veterans Wall on display in the Commons area on Monday, November 11. Photos of veterans submitted by students and their families will be on display. The day will begin with the playing of Taps. Students will also view a video and participate in class discussions on the significance of Veterans Day. A team of National Honor Society students will help tidy up an area veterans cemetery

How we Communicate Snow Days and other School Cancellation
In the event of a school cancellation, each family and team member (employee) will receive a phone call from a district administrator. We will also send email alerts and text messages to families and team members.

Snow days and other school cancellations will be posted on Facebook, Twitter and on local television stations.

If you have not received text messages from us this school year and wish to be alerted to school closures by text, simply text YES to 67587. Text NO to stop receiving alerts (standard text messaging fees apply).
