Two Types of Email Communication From Our School District: Are you receiving both?

We use two email communication tools to communicate with families and staff. One allows immediate alerts to all families or to targeted populations. The other, allows us to deliver news updates in a newsletter format.

Alerts from news@gvr5.net using SchoolMessenger look like a typical email message and are generally short, urgent communications regarding a school closure or safety concern. The subject line of these alerts varies. These email alerts may also be accompanied by voice calls and/or text alerts. This year, we will also use SchoolMessenger to communicate confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in our schools. If you wish to be alerted to school closures by text, simply text YES to 67587. Text NO to stop receiving alerts (standard text messaging fees apply).

“GV Schools Community News” email newsletters are sent to all families and staff on a regular basis. These emails include the banner below and are used to keep our school community up to date on the latest school district news. The subject line of these messages always begins with "GV Schools Community News," and includes the date. These messages take a few hours to reach everyone in our community.

Both types of email communications are sent through news@gvr5.net. We are sending both to all families and staff today. If you do not have both emails by 9:00 PM today, please reply to the message you did receive and tell us you did not receive the other, or if you have other district communication questions.

Please notify your child's school right away if you have changes to your contact information. Email addresses in PowerSchool are used for district email communication.
