From Mrs. Goodwin

Dear CES families,

I absolutely love this time of the year!  The weather is just right, and there is a warm and friendly atmosphere that surrounds us.  I hope you have an opportunity to help us spread some holiday cheer by attending the City of Camden Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, December 5 at 6:00 pm or our 3rd grade Christmas program that will take place on Thursday, December 12 at 6:30 pm.  Most importantly, I am wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Enjoy the holiday break and cherish the time with your loved ones.

Educationally yours,

Mrs. Goodwin

Snow!

Snowflake

It’s the kids' most wonderful time of year in the art room!  We will be making our annual snow starting on Friday, December 13th!  We could use your help with supplies. Items needed are: toilet paper (lots of toilet paper), glitter, and dish soap.  All of the students say THANK YOU and I say THANK YOU for your support! You guys are the best!

Music Notes:
CES Chorus

On Wednesday, December 4th, the CES Chorus went to Morningside of Camden to sing our fun holiday songs for the residents there. This was fun for the students and their audience!

On Thursday, December 5th, our CES Chorus will be performing at the Camden Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony downtown in front of City Hall. We will meet in front of the City Hall sign at 5:30pm. This is a great event for the whole family. Santa will be coming to town!

Tuesday, December 10th will be our last after-school rehearsal before winter break. Chorus rehearsals will resume on January 21st.

Third Grade:
The Greatest Showman

“The Greatest Snowman” will be performed on Thursday, December 12th at 6:30pm. Students will need to arrive and meet teachers in the music room at 6:00pm. If your child has received a speaking part, please make sure it is completely memorized by the week of December 9th or it can be given away. Thank you for your understanding! Our third grade students are so excited to present their musical to our families and friends. We will do a second performance on Friday, December 13th at 9:15am for all of Camden Elementary and families who were unable to attend the evening program.
Library Shelf

I hope everyone is enjoying the monthly READ-O activities!  The December READ-O should have been sent home with students early this week.  Please enjoy some of these fun literacy activities over the winter break and help heighten a love of learning and literacy in our Colts.
Fun Run Highlights!

Thank you for helping us raise $15,000 for shade for our playground!!!  Mrs. Goodwin, Mrs. White, and Nurse Rhonda were good sports about helping us reach our goals during this campaign!

Thank you to everyone who supported our Camden Colts Fun Run through sponsorship, pledging, donating cookies, and giving of time and talent. We appreciate you. Thanks to you, we reached our goal of $15,000 in profit that we can put toward the total cost of $25,000 for shade on the playground!

Another way to help is to simply use Amazon Smile when you do your online shopping this holiday season, and year-round. Amazon Smile is the same site as Amazon.com except that a small percentage of what you spend goes to a non-profit of your choice. Simply choose “Camden Primary Partners” as the recipient of your funds and shop as you normally would. There is even an Amazon Smile app for your phone.

In the new year look for information about an upcoming general membership meeting - there will be snacks and door prizes and valuable information about what we have going on and how you can get more involved. Until then, we wish you a happy and safe holiday!

Beta Club Bake Sale

Monday, December 9th-Friday, December 13th, our CES Beta Club will be holding a bake sale in the cafeteria during all lunches! Items will cost $1.00 and all proceeds collected will go to adopting a family for Christmas! Thank you for your support!
Cafeteria Expectations

Parents, you are always welcome to come and have lunch with your children.  We value the time you spend with your children. Therefore, only your child is allowed to sit at a parent table with you.  If you would like to sit with multiple students, please sit with the class table (if there is enough room). Thank you for following our cafeteria expectations.
