Aschinger Electric was honored for business and civic leadership by St. Louis County government in September, when Aschinger was named the winner of the county’s 2019 Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) Award. The award honors “outstanding business acumen, industry leadership and community service.”
“Emily [Martin, Aschinger’s president] leads by example,” said Doug Martin, executive vice president of the St. Louis Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association. “She’s a leader in both her business and our NECA chapter and devotes countless hours to improving our industry and the St. Louis community.”
Aschinger is among the region’s largest electrical contractors and among the largest women-owned businesses according to the St. Louis Business Journal. It is also one of the nation’s Top 600 Specialty Contractors, according the industry trade publication Engineering News Record (ENR).
Aschinger has led the industry in relation to multiple aspects of electrical innovation, most notably solar powered systems. Significant developments in this technology has made it a more viable option in building designs. Understanding solar capabilities and financial incentives is critical to a successful project.
Ms. Martin and her accomplished design team have taken solar to the next level on their projects. The current focus on development of sustainable energy usage requires a significant team effort to address all the fine details of a solar project. Many electrical contractors either refer these projects to other sources or subcontract capable firms to handle the construction. Innovation has never intimidated Aschinger and they embrace these types of opportunity.
Add to the solar expertise, cutting edge service practices, comprehensive lighting design and efficient traditional construction methods and you have a balanced service roster. Ms. Martin and her team strive for excellence and this award proves it. Being a WBE is a source of pride, but it is Aschinger’s performance and customer focus that truly sets them apart.
