CHECKS TO GAINESBORO ELEMENTARY
We can only accept checks that have your address and telephone number listed on it. Thank you.
ELECTRONICS FREE ZONE
Beginning in November, GES will be a personal electronic free zone for students.  Cellphones, tablets, gaming devices, etc.should be turned off and remain in the students’ backpacks during the school day.  We believe making this a school-wide practice will support our division goals of our young learners developing face to face communication and collaboration with their peers.   We encourage families to continue to monitor their child’s electronic activity. Resources are available to assist you in the process at https://www.commonsensemedia.org/

GES WELCOMES FAMILY MEMBERS TO JOIN US FOR LUNCH!
GES welcomes family members to join us for lunch!  Due to our increased enrollment, families visiting for lunch will be required to sit with their son/daughter at designated overflow tables. As a reminder, families may only eat with their child during this time unless prearranged with written permission by both families.  We strongly encourage families to participate in our school lunch program.  If you plan to join us, please contact the front office and we will be happy to place your lunch order for you!
GIFTED EDUCATION INFORMATION SERIES

The second session of the Gifted Education Information Series will be held January 13, 2020, from 7-8 p.m. in the James Wood Middle School library.  It will address "Transitions for Gifted Students from Middle School to High School." The session is open to the public, but will be specifically geared toward the parents of FCPS students in 8th grade that are eligible for gifted services.

JUST A NOTE FROM THE NURSE
With flu and cold season just around the corner I thought I would send a friendly reminder.  If your child is sick please keep them home.  If your child has a fever of 100 degrees or higher they can not be in school.  Your child must be below 100 degrees without tylenol or ibuprofen for 24 hours before they can return to school.  If your child is vomiting please keep them home.  If you have any questions please feel free to call me at 540-888-4550.
