The COVID-19 pandemic as well as the Governor Northam’s stay at home order have resulted in commencement exercises originally scheduled for June 3 at Sherando High School, June 4 at James Wood High School and June 5 at Millbrook High School being held virtually. The virtual ceremonies will include video recordings of the speeches and other aspects of each commencement exercise as well as individual recognition of each graduate. In addition to holding the virtual graduation ceremonies, each high school will be hosting parades and in-person graduation experiences to recognize graduating seniors. The parades and in-person graduation experiences will be held in controlled settings in which social distancing and other recommended safety actions are practiced. Each high school’s Senior Awards Program will also be held virtually. The virtual ceremonies will be made available on each high school’s Facebook page and the FCPS YouTube channel.
