 Speak Up And Stay Safe
Parents, students, staff and members of the community can all play a part in keeping our schools safe and secure. If you see suspicious activity, be prepared to give a detailed report to school staff and the authorities. Pay special attention to things like: What, specifically, you observed; who you saw; when and where you saw it; and why it seemed suspicious. These details will help school staff and the authorities as they work to keep our schools and students safe. Please report any suspicious activity noted in the vicinity of schools to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office at 540-662-6168.

 Garden Club
The JMG Garden Club has been busy learning about weathering and rocks, the three sisters garden, and how plants grow. Every morning the gardeners are able to touch and smell different herbs, such as rosemary, lavender, thyme, basil, and lemongrass. We also learned about how to clean up our garden beds and "put them to bed" for the winter by placing hay on top of the beds. We worked hard outside to pull any plants and weeds that were brown or yellow, and we did not mind getting our hands dirty with soil! We also had the opportunity to make our very own birdhouse to use in the upcoming winter!
We thank all the very dedicated Master Gardener and parent volunteers for helping make our JMG Garden Club a big success! We truly appreciate all your incredible help. Happy gardening, everyone!

 Drama Club
GMES now has a Drama Club! We have been meeting on Tuesdays after school and learning all about the theater! Our club has 109 members in grades 3-5 who are split into different groups as actors, artists, or tech crew. We are learning how all 3 arenas work together to make the theater run smoothly. The club will run through December when the students will perform plays for their families as a culminating event on the stage. We hope to make this club available to students each fall semester at GMES!
