Car Riders

Morning Drop Off

  • Students will be dropped off outside of the cafeteria doors. Staff members will be present to ensure students make it safely into the building. Car doors will not be opened for students unless there are some students who cannot get out on their own. The primary reason for staff to be out there is to ensure students enter the building safely. Students are not permitted to be dropped off at the top of the steps, by the playground, or anywhere else around the campus. This is for safety and supervision.

Afternoon Car Riders

  • Parents will park and come in to the school to pick up their student in the cafeteria. The cafeteria doors will be unlocked at 3:20 and one of the office staff members and additional staff members will be ready to receive you at 3:20 to sign out your child/children. Parents will need to show ID to sign out students.

  • Parents need to stay in the cafeteria until they have their student and exit through the cafeteria door.  If you need to use the restroom, you may use the restrooms in the cafeteria.

  • We encourage walkers and bikers. In order for your child to be dismissed as a walker, you must indicate that they are a walker on the transportation form you completed or you must send in a written note providing permission. We will not release students as walkers otherwise. Please ONLY send your child to our 3 crosswalks with crossing guards. These points are located at the intersection of Channing/Canyon, the playground entrance at Renee and behind the school where the steps are located.

  • Students may not be picked up on streets surrounding the school. This causes a safety hazard for our walkers. If students are picked up in areas other than the cafeteria or office, walking privileges will be revoked and students will be sent to the cafeteria daily for pick up or will ride the bus home.

Learning something new so you can be better at whatever you do.

ASK A Kid:

  • Every day you are learning new things at school or at home or at play.  Think of something specific that you have recently learned. How did learning this help you in other areas of your life?

  • What is something that you would like to learn about or learn to do?

  • What is something that you learned when you were young that has been really helpful to you as an adult?

  • Are you eager to learn new things as an adult?

  • Discuss any hardships that you have experienced in learning new things as a child or as an adult and how you were able to stay positive and conquer them.

Running Club

There will be no running club in January. Running club will resume on February 5, 2020 for 2nd and 3rd grade runners and February 7, 2020 for 4th and 5th grade runners. We will send out spring dates for running club at that time.
