Grand Opening of the Midlothian High School Athletic Complex

Thank you to everyone for celebrating with us the opening of the Midlothian High School Athletic Complex! This would not have been possible without our community’s support for Bond 2016. Special thanks to Jim Norris for throwing the first pitch at our softball field, and Ronnie Clanton for throwing the first pitch at the Ronnie Clanton Baseball Field!

2019 - 2020 Start and End Times

The MISD School Board approved modifying the 2019-20 school start and end times due to increasing growth at the April Board meeting. These new adjusted start times allows the transportation department to operate more effectively and efficiently across the 113-square miles our district serves, ensuring our students are dropped off and picked up on time. The new start and stop times are:

Elementary School - 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Middle & High School - 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The bus stop pickup times in the morning will remain the same. The start and end times are adjusted to operate effectively and efficiently between the elementary and secondary routes. With an average student growth rate of 500 to 600 new students enrolling in MISD each year, the district adds an average of five routes annually to keep up with our community growth. With more subdivisions added across our 113-square miles and to maintain the current start times, the district would need to purchase eight new buses and hire eight drivers adding a recurring $1 million to the budget annually.

While we know adjusting your morning and evening routines may be difficult, we thank you for your partnership and understanding as we work to best serve our students, teachers, staff and community members.
