Science Celebration Week

Robla Preschool LOVES science!

Mrs. Lana Romanchuk, our science teacher has exciting presentations every week for your children.  Our students learn the academic language associated with lessons:  mathematic terms about quantity, technical terms about animal life and how to make predictions and hypotheses!

Each January, we have a week of science activities in our classrooms and invite you to help us with these experiments and observations. Many have to do with weather, nutrition, our physical skills and animal life around us and in other areas of the world. Mrs. Lana, our planner, is joined by our Play Pals teacher, Mrs. Lisa Prints who also loves science and recycling! Please come and join the science fun!

Your classroom teacher will have a sign-up sheet for you and we are looking forward to seeing you!

Santa’s Visit!

Many thanks and muchas gracias to all of you who wrapped and decorated our students’ presents; they made Santa’s visit all the more special for our students. We were thrilled that Santa had time to visit our school this year!

We wish you a healthy, happy and prosperous 2020!

Our District observes the birthdate of Martin Luther King, Jr. and is closed on Monday, January 20th .  We honor the memory of this American hero who joins so many others who fought for the personal freedoms that make our country great.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.  Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”

--Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Robla School District has programs for children from birth to 5 years of age.

Play Pals – a parent participation program for children from birth to three years of age, available at the Robla Preschool daily.

- Our State Preschool program based on eligibility criteria for three to five year old students and our First 5 program based on district residency.

          Safety Drills

Safety drills are important to us.  We teach our students “how to keep safe”.  These drills include: Fire, Earthquake Evacuation Drills; Reverse Drills (students leave playground and return to class); Shelter and Hold Drills.  All of our drills are designed to be positive; to teach our students that we are safe and that practice makes us even safer!

After each drill, your child’s teacher has a class meeting and discusses the drill. We are focused on keeping positive in our language. We tell our students why the practice was excellent by using reinforcement such as: You lined up quietly and quickly; When I called your name, you said “Here” loudly; When we were waiting you did not talk—you waited and listened for my directions, etc.

We are practicing regularly to make the routines well known to our students.  We know that when children internalize a behavior, they can carry it out in another situation.  Our goal is for our students to learn how to respond here at school and in any other environment should it be necessary.

If you are volunteering on a day when we practice, please follow the teacher’s directions and help us out by being a role model.  Thank you for your support.

A Word About Weather…..BRRR!

We go outside on cold, clear days so send your child to school with a warm coat and warm shoes.

Don’t forget to write your child’s name on the inside of their jacket!
Check our Lost & Found rack for missing clothes.
