A Message from the Superintendent
Dear Parents and Community Members,

We are embarking on new and innovative learning models with the kick-off of our distance learning model on Thursday. Happy Day 2 of  Distance Learning.

I would like to give a shout out to our entire TTUSD team who has worked tirelessly to make this possible in a very short amount of time. We are all committed to doing what’s best for our kids to ensure a continuity of education during these unprecedented times due to the COVID-19 crisis.

As I’ve shared with our staff, we are facing this together and we will get through this together. We are all in this together. Early in February, I shared with you my plans to retire at the end of this school year. Given the COVID-19 crisis, I realize that it may be unrealistic for our board to complete the Superintendent Chief Learning Officer recruitment process in the original timeline they laid out and I plan to stay as long as this crisis continues and until we find the right Superintendent Chief Learning Officer for our district. That is my commitment to you, our kids, our families, and the community. WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!

This situation is challenging and changing every day and we’re learning and adapting every day. None of us is fully aware of how COVID-19 will evolve, and as Governor Newsom said Tuesday night, we don’t know when this crisis will end.

Last night, the governor issued a statewide stay at home order. Thank you for doing your part in social distancing to flatten the curve of exposure to keep you and your family and colleagues safe and healthy. We very well could be in this for the long haul, and we should all be prepared that our schools and district could be closed for a longer time period than anticipated. As I am sure you are aware, COVID-19 is in our community now, and we all need to heed the direction of the governor and the health professionals.

Please know that we will continue and develop creative solutions to ensure our kids keep learning during school closures.

Things are changing by the hour. Please be sure to keep checking our website regularly at www.ttusd.org/virus for all COVID-19 updates. On that page, we also have a COVID-19 FAQ sheet that we are updating daily. We will continue to send regular updates as this situation evolves.

Sincerely,

Robert J. Leri, Ed.D.
Superintendent Chief Learning Officer
